About

One link.
Every podcast app.

Your friend DMs a podcast link. You tap it. The wrong app opens, or no app opens. You copy the episode title, paste it into your podcast app, scroll to find it, guess at the timestamp. We built ShareAPod because that dance is silly.

How it actually works

We detect the source platform, extract the canonical episode or show id, and ask the Podcast Index — an open, community-maintained catalog — to find matching entries on every other platform. Where an API is available (Apple, Spotify, YouTube), we query it directly and fuzzy-match titles. Where it isn't, we construct a well-formed search URL so the destination app does the last mile.

Timestamps from Spotify and YouTube are preserved where the destination platform supports them. Episode artwork, descriptions, and durations come from the canonical feed, not scraped from whatever link you pasted.

When a show publishes through OP3 — the Open Podcast Prefix Project — we surface its public, privacy-respecting download counts as a popularity badge on the permalink.
